James Drewe

James Drewe became involved in the Chinese Health Arts in 1975 when he began by studying Gongfu and Taijiquan.  He rapidly became interested in the philosophy behind these forms of exercise and also in both meditation and the use of diet to promote health.  Since then he has taken an interest in a variety of other health arts and qualified as an acupuncturist.

In 1980 James began learning the Yang family style of taijiquan and Zhan Zhuang Qigong under Master Chu King Hung, and in 1991 he continued to study Zhan Zhuang Qigong with Master Lam Kam Chuen.

Since then, he has studied a therapeutic Qigong called Daoyin Yangsheng Gong with Richard Watson, Mark Atkinson, Hu Xiao Fei, and Prof. Zhang Guangde.   He has also studied Qigong with Master Wang Yanji, and currently learns with Master Huang Ping.

Other than Zhan Zhuang Qigong, James Drewe has studied a therapeutic qigong called Daoyin Yangsheng Gong with Richard Watson, Mark Atkinson, Hu Xiao Fei, and Prof. Zhang Guangde.

James is a member of the BCCMA, the TCUGB, and the Longfei Taijiquan Association.  He is the author of 3 books on taiji, and runs taiji and qigong classes in both London and Kent.
