Exercise to Calm & Concentrate the Spirit & Regulate the Heart (Standing)
Also known as ‘The Concentration Exercise’
This is similar in construction to the 5-Minute Exercise in that it follows the ideas of Zhan Zhuang, and is a 5-posture exercise. It concentrates on Dantian, Mingmen, Laogong, Yongquan, and the circulation of energy, with the aim of calming the mind and body, rather than to bring qi to these areas.
It is important that it is done slowly; Prof. Zhang tells the story of the tortoise and the hare. The tortoise does everything slowly and lives for hundreds of years; the hare only lasts for 3 years. The object of the exercise is longevity.
The sequence can be performed in any order, or only using certain parts of it.
